Dear Friends, Easter Day was so beautiful! When I arrived at church on Easter morning at 5:45 am, it was slightly dark. As I came up the back stairs, I could hardly wait to see the sanctuary. As usual, I opened my little door behind the organ and as I looked up to the altar, and saw the entire room, it was beautifully filled with lovely flowers and the fragrance was delightful! Trumpeter, Luke Dunn, arrived shortly after and he and I went out to the front steps. Someone was already lighting the bonfire and people were coming up the street either walking or parking their cars. I whispered to Luke to sound his trumpet. What a gorgeous sound that was on that quiet scene as everyone gathered around the pastor at the bonfire. What wonderful thoughts came to my mind as we stood there. Knowing that our precious Savior who was hung on a cross, and then buried was now "Risen from the dead!" Nothing would ever be the same for those who believe. As we entered the church singing, heard Pastor Jim's Easter message and then gathered for communion, the message was clear! Christ had Risen! A wonderful breakfast followed and we could greet each other and enjoy the delightful food. The second service began and the same excitement filled my heart. We had many visitors and friends and everyone was filled with joy to great each other. I wish to thank those who helped to sing that wonderful old anthem, "The Holy City." Oh yes, I want to apologize to the choir because someone told me the organ was a bit too loud. I am truly sorry but I was so excited because I could read all of the music without wearing my glasses! In fact, I played all of the services during Holy Week without my glasses. Thank you for your prayers during the Lenten and Easter season for the success of my operation. Looking forward to sharing worship with all of you during our lovely spring weather.
